Delft Private Walking Tour
Delft Private Tour
We'll begin this private walking tour of Delft from the Markt square, where we'll meet at the designated time under the statue of Hugo de Groot.
From there, we'll start our walking tour through the city center, the birthplace of Johannes Vermeer, world-renowned for his famous painting, Girl with a Pearl Earring.
During our stroll through Delft's old town, we'll admire the exteriors of iconic monuments such as the Nieuwe Kerk and the Town Hall. We'll continue exploring the historic city center, which is characterized by its picturesque canals and elegant houses dating back to the Dutch Golden Age.
We'll pass by the Oude Kerk, the Dutch East India Company building, the Meat Hall, and hidden courtyards in the city center.
We'll also tell you about the close relationship between the city of Delft and the House of Orange-Nassau. Did you know that Prince William of Orange, founder of the Dutch monarchy, was assassinated in front of the walls of St. Agatha's Convent, which still bears the bullet holes?
Finally, after 1.5 hours, we'll conclude our private tour in Delft's historic center.
