Merry Christmas! Do you want to discover the most popular seasonal products in the Grand Duchy? We’ll meet at Place de Paris, where we’ll begin our Christmas food tour through Luxembourg, walking through its Christmas markets.
Along the route, we’ll taste traditional dishes such as Gromperekichelcher, crispy potato fritters. We’ll also try typical Christmas sausages and delicious Kniddelen, Luxembourgish dumplings that are truly tasty. And of course, there will also be traditional sweets like Bamkuch, a sponge cake that’s very popular at this time of year.
We’ll first visit the Niklosmaart market at Place de Paris, which is decorated with a beautiful Christmas tree during this season. As we walk and enjoy the tastings, we’ll learn about Luxembourg’s Christmas traditions. We’ll also talk about the most important holidays of the season, especially 6 December, when St. Nicholas Day is celebrated.
We’ll continue by visiting other iconic Christmas markets in Luxembourg, such as the Lëtzebuerger Chrëschtmaart at Place d’Armes and the popular Winterkids at Place Guillaume II, a market especially designed for children.
Finally, after learning about Luxembourg’s unique Christmas customs and tasting its most typical products, we’ll end this 3-hour tour at the Wantermaart Christmas market at Place de la Constitution. You’ll love it!
